SpouseBUZZ LIVE: Ft. Bragg/Pope - Here We Come!
October 3, 2007|
The SpouseBUZZ team is super excited about taking our next LIVE event to Fayetteville, North Carolina, home to Ft. Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. If you've never attended one of these events, you are in for a real treat. Soon, you'll be hearing just how fun and important our LIVE events are. Not from us, but from military spouses who have been there and gone through the experience. For now, you can read the account of one milspouse/journalist who attended SpouseBUZZ LIVE San Diego.
When I registered to attend the Spouse Buzz Live San Diego conference for military spouses, I was expecting to maybe meet some nice people and get some decently helpful information. After all, this was just a free conference.
My expectations were extremely low compared to what I actually experienced.*****
I walked out a bit shelled shocked from having had such a great time and being treated like a VIP for the day. And to think I actually considered not going!
As was said recently, "this ain't your grandmother's event." SpouseBUZZ LIVE is truly an "electrifying" experience. As one past attendee told me, "opportunities like this don't come along very often, you have to grab them when they do."
Fayetteville is a great location. It's a decent drive from places like Charleston, Camp Lejeune, Ft. Jackson, the Virginia/Washington, DC/Maryland area and Ft. Stewart. This is an event which is ideal for a "girls weekend." Some of you have already said you're planning to caravan to SpouseBUZZ LIVE, and we're going to reward a few of you for doing just that. Everyone in the caravan that brings the most spouses to SpouseBUZZ LIVE (outside of a 60 mile radius from Fayetteville) will receive special prizes, on top of the free goodies that each attendee will automatically receive, so start coordinating your girls road trip now.
Details: SpouseBUZZ LIVE Ft. Bragg/Pope will take place on December 1, 2007 from 9:00 - 3:00 at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux. If you're coming from out of town, the Holiday Inn will offer you a special, military rate (space available). You will need to call Jessica Taylor at 910.323.0111 x7105, tell her you will be attending the SpouseBUZZ LIVE event and she will take care of your reservation.

Come relax, laugh, cry and bond with hundreds of other military spouses. Listen to great conversations, meet interesting people, make new friends, load yourself down with free stuff and walk away stimulated and energized. Hey, we need each other - especially now.
We want to extend a very special thank you to Military.com, the premiere sponsor for this event. Military.com has been incredibly supportive of all things SpouseBUZZ, and we are grateful for their deep commitment to the military spouse community.

DETERMINED!
I am determined to attend. And to that end I am officially registered and with a reservation. I will still work to recruit people to caravan from dc metro with me, but even if I drive it alone at least I am going. My husband is an IA sailor in the sand who is actually attached to a unit from Ft Bragg and by that time, good baby news continuing, I will be 5+ months pregnant.
I am excited!

It sounds like a ton of fun, Andi! I'm in. :)

What a great article from Leslie Wightman. I didn't see that back in May. And it was a really good description of the day! I know SBL3 will be just as good as 1 and 2 were!

I wonder if they would bump up my military hop category number for a Spousebuzz event....probably not...
eagerly awaiting a Hawaii SBL...

Wendy - I'm eagerly awaiting a Hawaii event too... Heh!

Wifeunit,
Where in the DC Area are you, I live in Quantico and would love to attend, but there is no way I would drive all the way there by myself.

Ivy and wifeunit,
I also live in the Quantico area and am working on getting some wives from here to go to Spousebuzz..
maybe we can get a carpooling thing going?
Posted by: Semper Fi Wife | 10/03/2007 at 14:26
I live within the beltway on the md side by College Park, but would definitely be interested in carpooling and can get myself to quantico easy enough.

Ivy - I removed your last name from the comment just to protect you. We encourage people not to leave full names or other personal information because you never know what weirdos are lurking around on the internet. Just wanted you to know. Look forward to seeing you in December.

Posted by: Shanna | 10/03/2007 at 21:17
Wendy ~ are you in Hawaii?? I am. I'm working on getting SBL to come here. What better place to have it and we'd be able to attract spouses from all FIVE (including Coast Guard) branches of service! And maybe people would use the opportunity to take a Hawaiian vacation in order to attend!
Posted by: HomefrontSix | 10/03/2007 at 22:18
Can you tape the speaches and/or make a video (can be used as promo for the next one) of the event for those who miss it?
Posted by: Janie | 10/04/2007 at 03:02
Andi,
Too much pressure. I'm sure to disappoint! Can't wait!
Posted by: Marine Wife | 10/04/2007 at 08:52
We're working on something of that nature, Janie.
Marine Wife - "Pressure?" With this crowd - don't even give it a second thought, it'll be like a day with old friends, trust me.

I'm also stationed in the Bragg area and can help out if anyone needs any assistance/arrangements made before the event.I can't believe that there's going to be an event here! While we were stationed in Germany last year I remember thinking "Man, that would be SO awesome to be able to attend one of those things..."

I'm going from the Hampton Roads area too. My husband was just stationed in Bragg from Germany. Looking forward to interacting with other wives.
