"This is my life. It always will be. Nothing else...just us. The camera...and those wonderful people out there in the dark. Alright, Mr. Demille, I'm ready for my close-up."
~Sunset Blvd.
Here is a photo of me, and my daughter during my DH's deployment.
Bittersweet...
The very popular "at arms length" photo. (BTW, the infant is now almost 3!!) Taken after Dear Husband begged and begged for photos of not only children, but me as well.
But there you have it. I seem to have a collection of these things. Photos taken holding 2 children at once, while taking a shot. Inadvertently cutting someone out of the shot. Also finding myself having to go apply a little make up because I looked plain old worn out. Thank goodness for these photos. They are an awesome reminder of a fantastic journey.
I recalled these types of photos today when I went over to see my friend Homefront Six.
These are "the photos" that make me well up, because I know what it means....these pictures. They mean I miss you, do not forget my smile, my dimples, my mouth, my smile....oh how I miss you.
Then there are the "arms length photos" of the couple... most of us have these too. Although I think Sarah and her Husband may have us beat in the "exotic location" department.
However, I am proud of us. "the arms length photo brigade". It is documentation of our existence, and our strength.
Do you have an "arms length photo" you would like to share?
Send it.
We want to see who you are....

I think one of the most touching examples of "arms length photos" can be found on Heidi's blog Learning to Live. Her husband took photos of their webcams before he was killed in Iraq. She is so grateful to have those photos now.
You can see them here: http://heidijournal.blogspot.com/2005/10/webcam.html
