For thirty years (since I was about 5 years old) I have wanted to go to Disney World. How much have I wanted to go to Disney World? I would pick Disney over a cruise to Hawaii. I would pick Disney over a world tour (at least the first time). I would pick Disney World over dinner with Abraham Lincoln if a time machine existed and I were somehow able to secure a special invitation to the White House in 1864.
Disney World has been a really big deal on the airforcewife list of things to do.
After waiting and planning and saving, we decided this year was the year to go. Everything just fell into place, which is particularly helpful. We expected a big expense, and as we started pricing things out on the Disney website, our expectations proved to be right on target.
But then I had a chance encounter with another military spouse, and everything changed.

I have been teasing my husband about Atta Girls for quite a long time. Like many wives, I coveted an Atta Girl of my very own, but to be honest it was just too much money for me to imagine spending on a piece of jewelry for myself.
I wanted one very much, but I didn't need one. My kids needed shoes. We needed to take Ike to the vet. Air Force Guy needed IR flags. It was kind of a family joke anytime something went wrong - I'd tell AFG, "I expect to see the Atta Girl ribbon for this one!" the way the kids and I would say, "Hey, let's go tell those people to move out of our house!" when we would drive past some dreamy picturesque manor we'll never be able to afford.
Apparently, my husband is an awful lot more romantic than I ever would have guessed.

It's Memorial Day Weekend, and the wonderful people at the Virginia Renaissance Fair are offering FREE ADMISSION to all active duty, reserve, and retired military ID holders!
A good Ren Faire is tons of fun! Air Force Family will be going on Saturday - maybe we'll see you there! I will most definitely have pictures for you next week!

This morning I came across a wonderful product for children - thanks to this article . I only wish that I would have known about it sooner.
I have not ordered yet, but it is most certainly on my 'must do' list for today. Heck, I might even order one for myself - if they have something to fit me! Anything that can help our little ones during separation from mom or dad - is a great thing!

I purchased something for myself. I rarely do that.
In all honesty - it is really a household item. But, I know that I will absolutely use it more than anyone else in my household. Therefore, it is a gift to me!

I was one of the luckiest teens in the world - rare was the day when I had a zit of any sort.
I just didn't have a pimple problem - no acne, no nothing. Life was good.
So I'm hoping someone can explain to me how, as soon as I hit my thirties, my skin decided to turn into some terrible version of "Teen Fast Food Worker."
Luckily, help is available.

When I was young and had no appreciation for it, my hair was long, thick, curly, and shiny. My mom used to put it up in (usually lopsided) pigtails, except when I went through my Laura Ingalls Wilder phase and I wanted it in two braids. What can I say - Little House on the Prairie was rather popular at the time.
Then I became a teenager and suddenly my hair became important. And it also became thin, frizzy, and cantankerous. Luckily, big hair was in. Because mine wasn't going to sit still for anyone.
Through each of my pregnancies I thought the Hair Fairy had finally blessed me again. Thick, luxurious locks cascaded from my head in soft ringlets. But then the kids popped out and my hair decided that it had a sudden and urgent appointment somewhere down my drain.
