I Love My Deployment Watch
July 16, 2009|
When my husband was in Iraq, I kept getting confused about what the time difference was, especially after daylight savings time ended. At one point we had a laughing argument about what time it was! Once I found out that Afghanistan is is +4:30, with a weird half hour difference, I knew I was never gonna keep it straight. So I bought one of these:
So far, I love it. And it was really cheap, because I bought it on eBay from Hong Kong. I had no problems with the transaction, and it even came with extra batteries.
I like feeling connected to him every time I look at my watch...

Ok, so I'm watching that item right now to bid on it. It is genius! Definitely makes it a lot easier than to sit there for a few minutes trying to figure out what time it is, especially once daylight savings time comes around and oh wait.. do they even do daylight savings time? Is it forward or back?
hehe.. This just simplifies everything and it looks cute too! ^_~

We bought a watch like this for a foreign exchange student that we had. She loved it as well!

Love it! I use an app for Firefox called FoxClocks that displays both times in the bottom of my browser - has been very helpful too.

Great idea. I had a clock on my blog during the last deployment, but it meant having to get on the computer to see it.

Wow, that's so cool! And it's not even an ugly watch. Good find! Wish I had had one last time.

Sweet!! I have a Vista Gadget application similar to that for Korea/Utah time. I want a wristwatch version now. :)

I bought a watch like this when I found out hubby was leaving for Korea -- thru this catalog, signals.com. it has a black band and has two clocks (one with "here" and one with "there")
I have it hanging on my cubicle wall at work.. it's $40.00 (plus s/h) can't get a pic to work but the link does. I think it's the best thing ever!! :)

For those of you who have an LG EnV phone, it can be set to show two time zones, which you get to pick. I've set my second to Afghanistan time, so everytime I open up my phone I instantly know what time it is for my hubby overseas.
