Fit Club: It's Working!

|

Thank you, my Fit Club friends.  I don't know which is the magic key, reporting to you, or the food journal, or dropping the beer for white wine spritzers, but something is working!  I'm rapidly pushing towards the half-way point of my fitness goal for DH's deployment, and I've only been really serious about it for about three months.  I'm so excited!

On the downside, I haven't been exercising much.  I think I'm just inherently lazy, plus we are so busy, and I've been sick.  (Ugh!)  But I have been walking a good bit and swimming a few times a week, so I haven't been sitting inside and watching TV every day.

How is the summer affecting your fitness plans?

Well I started with gusto doing Turbulance Training and have lagged in the past week due to a foot injury. Can't really run or do jumping jacks when one has stitches in the ball of one's foot. ARGH!!!

Congrats on the body changes! Our deployment is looming in the wintertime so it'll be a nice reprieve to run in the cool vs the hellish heat.

That's funny! As a mil spouse: The summer priorities were close down one house and set up camp in another. Children's rooms and other activities are important and I found myself busy with them first. By the way, during these first six weeks in the new place, hubbie kept telling me how easy it is to work myself out with in home push ups and sit ups and some other wonderful activities like burpies (have you done them?) I'm settled now and looking back on my first six weeks here I'm okay with what I've done. The down side is I need a lot of activity to keep the brain healthy too and will continue to push on.

Hi, I am a new Military wife. My husband joined the army to help with schooling costs and be able to provide for our little family. We have 2 boys under 4, and our oldest has special needs.

My husband is gone for his Basic and AIT and will be gone for 8-9 months. So I do am on the get fit band wagon!

Any tips for a MW newbie?

Started back at the yoga studio. Ouch. I've been away from it for a year and it shows.
