Salt 'N Vinegar, Please....

|

Before we left our last duty station, I went grocery shopping one day when I was starving. Always a bad idea.... I picked up several items that I normally don't buy. I think I was hoping the photos on the products would settle in my stomach by osmosis or something. One of those items was Salt and Vinegar almonds. I never opened the can. I ate the chocolate cake and whip cream parfait I bought at the bakery. In the parking lot.

Last week, I was going through the cupboard (hungry again), and I ran across that can of almonds. Although I was skeptical, I opened the can. To my surprise, I found that I loved them, and I consumed the entire can in only two days.

Today, I went to the grocery store and yep, you guessed it, Salt and Vinegar almonds were nowhere to be found. I had a rather unpleasant flashback

Moving really sucks when you have the munchies.....

I am positive that someone would be willing to send you Salt and Vinegar almonds if they could find them. I even think I've seen them at my local Super Walmart. In lieu of almonds might I recommend kettle cooked salt and vinegar chips? Very tasty. My man has faced the same situation during his stationing at Kunsan...but his gripe is that they have no good vegetables.

Or that those fruits and vegetables cost an arm and a leg...I had to remind my hubby (who is at Osan) that we never ate fresh fruits and veggies in Japan, because we would have to take out a loan to afford them...and that was 15 years ago.

Sarah - I did see the salt and vinegar chips, but I really, really wanted the almonds. I'm sure I can find some at one store or the other around here. I have tricked myself into thinking that since almonds are healthy for you, that would be the best route to go. Nevermind all that salt piled on them. Heh....

If you check Amazon.com they carry them. If you buy enough you even get free shipping.

One of our fav indoor sports is the "foods we want but can't get here" game. I will see your Krispy Kreme and raise you 3 Hardees Biscuts......
