Virtual Parents: Oh, the Possibilities....
January 6, 2009|
Well, this is something. I could envision a scenario where the conversation could be manipulated somewhat, though. It really could go south quite rapidly.
Kid: Daddy, I love you and I miss you.
Virtual Daddy: I miss and love you, too. Are you being good for mom?
Kid: Yes, I am. Daddy, can I have a puppy? Oh, and, um, I mean, and, can I give mom a kiss for you?
Virtual Daddy: Of course, please do.
Kid flies out of the room screaming, Mom, mom, mom. Guess what? Daddy said I could get a puppy.
Mom then runs into the room and throws her shoes at Virtual Daddy, reducing his virtualness into a cloud of smoke and rubble.
Heh...
H/T: Computer World, where someone wonders when they'll build "virtual politicians."

Have you been listening to the Kiddos chat with their Dad? They had that same question but asking for a new baby along with it. NO WAY!!! Was the answer from both Hubby and I.

Ha! At first you were oging to have the kid edit the video...though I imagine that might be a future possibility as well.
Like we need any more opportunities to miscommunicate!

I saw the head;line and imagined someone was trying to replace me (AS IF!! LOL) I wonder if you'll be able to ask the VOP (virtual other parent) if he'll take out the garbage, get the car washed and mow the lawn??? LOL but I can see how this might comfort a child... but Army s/ not waste the money developing some fancy technology... just turn on the video recorder and have Dad or Mom record all the usual phrases - Love you, be good for your mom/dad/gram... I miss you... do your homework... and read a few bedtime stories... mark the location on the tape... fast forward as needed... yah.
