I love a man in uniform...
November 25, 2008|
...but not just my husband. Seems I've had a love affair with men in uniform since I was a small child. Come to think of it, I think I was born being in love with men in uniform. My grandfather was both a SeaBee in WWII and a Warrant Officer in the Army during the Korean conflict. Several of my uncles served in the Army both in WWII and the Korean conflict. My father was in the Army as well.
Growing up, my mother was a dog breeder and the kennel club to which she belonged sponsored a Toys for Tots benefit dog show each year. At the age of 7, I met my first Marine in Dress Blues (SemperFi Wife, correct me if I got that terminology wrong!) and have been head over heels ever since.
Even before I met MacGyver, the boys I dated tended toward the military mindset. In fact, looking back, 3 of the 4 boys I had "serious" relationships with in high school and college spent time in the military. I didn't realize it then but it makes sense now. It's the uniform that gets me every single time.
Or at least the concept of it. When I met MacGyver, he was a year out of high school and not in the military. Yet. But I knew he was headed there and that was one of the things that attracted me to him. Even the idea of MacGyver in uniform was tantlizing!
We have a ball coming up. I love the opportunity to get dressed up and act like a princess, if only for a few hours. MacGyver's dress blues are out, cleaned, and pressed. They are sitting there, reminding me of yet another reason - one of the original reasons - that I fell for my husband. Not the only reason, but a darned good looking one!

I'm the same way!
Ever since I was a little girl I loved seeing a man in uniform and used to say I would marry one. My father used to wear a uniform and worked alongside the military so I think that's where it came from ^_~
During my elementary and junior high school days, I used to read so many books about the military and they definitely made it sound more glamours than it is hehe.. I even had an Army penpal for a while! Most days when I'm walking around post, I'm in awe that I am living the life I used to read stories about when I was younger. I'm going to miss seeing the uniforms whenever DH gets out but since I plan on working at a military hospital, I'll end up seeing them again eventually. :)

I think most of us are a sucker for a uniform...
I talked my brother into taking me to his Naval ball and I saw a guy in the uniform my DH had when he was in the Corps - drool!
Bummer though, DH *HATES* his uniforms. He just doesn't realize how happy they make me! =D

I love it so much that I still make my DH wear his...in the bedroom. ;-D He doesn't have anywhere else to wear it given that he's retired.

I have a big admiration to men in uniform. Aside from physical looks, I like their personalities.

I've been a sucker for the uniform from day one. I loved looking at pictures & hearing the stories from my grandparents, aunts, and uncles and cousins that served in all branches.
I think for me it is the mindset (duty, loyalty, hard worker, etc.) as much as the uniform- all my bf's in hs ended up joining the military. Now I'm engaged to an army guy!
You just can't beat seeing your man in his dress uniform! So sexy!!!

OMG! I'm engaged to a Navy guy and i will never forget the way he looked the day he graduated from basic training. I've always had a thing for guys in uniform too. In fact, most of my guy friends are in some branch or another. We all know we love how our guys look pretty much anyday, but when they put that uniform on they're simply irresistable. I feel like a kid in a candy shop, I'm helpless to resist!
