Grading DoD Schools

|

If your children attend Defense Department schools, consider taking a few minutes to do a survey.

More after the jump.

Families invited to grade DoD schools

Students and their parents have a chance to grade their Defense Department schools in a 20-minute online survey.

The anonymous survey is open to students in grades four through 12, and to parents of the more than 84,000 students enrolled in grades pre-kindergarten through 12 in Defense Department schools overseas and on U.S. military bases.

The voluntary Customer Satisfaction Survey, conducted every two years by the Department of Defense Education Activity, is open through Feb. 28.

The survey is available at www.dodea.edu; click on the Customer Satisfaction Survey icon.

The 35 questions cover the areas of overall education, assessment, technology, student support and communication. Students and parents can grade their own school, as well as the overall Defense Department school system, on a scale of A, B, C, D or Fail. It also asks whether 16 issues, such as crime, are a problem.

I loved my daughter's 1st DoD school when we lived overseas. The 2nd one in the States I was less than thrilled with (but then we had such a high standard after the 1st one). But now that we are in a public school in FL (supposedly one of the better ones in the state), I'd love to be back in the DoD system!

In the summer of 2008, Forrest Sherman High School (a.k.a. Naples American H.S.) from Naples, Italy had a high school reunion for the classes of 1980-1986. You will be pleased to note that the alumni in adulthood are successful academically and career-wise. Over 200 attended our reunion. Several of the classmates had doctoral degrees and/or professional degrees (e.g., physician, podiatrist, attorney). We are all very satisfied with the education we received from FSHS-NAHS. Thank-you to DoDDS!
