Fit Club - Report In!

|

Well, diet and exercise wise, this last week was a total wash.

Several of the SpouseBUZZ authors came to visit, and unless you count giggling madly and staying up late as forms of exercise, I did about ZILCH.  Although I will work out today.

I also dug in with relish to foods like waffles with real syrup, a bleu cheese burger, chips, and the dreaded Onion Petals at Logan's Road House.

Not my finest week in my fitness journey, to be sure.

But never fear!  Fitness Magazine has come to my rescue!

It's safe to say that I am now plateauing on my Nikki Fitness DVD.  It's a wonderful DVD, it has made a huge difference.  But now my body knows what to expect when and I need to try something new.

Apparently God realized that this weight is not coming off without divine intervention - because the planets aligned and this month's issue of Fitness Magazine features a 30 minute interval training workout I can use AND a one month diet plan that actually made my mouth water.  They have specific fast food items built into the menu!   Like cheeseburgers!

So as of today I'm back on the wagon, trying to work my butt into a socially acceptable size.  And I need your help to do it, too.  If you see me with a Kit Kat bar precariously balanced in my grubby hand on its way to my mouth - KNOCK IT OUT OF MY HAND IMMEDIATELY!  Desperate times call for desperate measures.

And if you see me sitting listlessly on the couch - feel free to employ the Drill Instructor verbal cues until I get up and MOVE.  I'd be more than happy to return the favor.

i did OK this week, again not bad.. but not great.

im losing the momentum, but i think after this week i will kick it up a notch or two, i have new motivation, with a deployment ending soon!!!

why wait til after this week? My brother who has never been to the east coast and my sister who has been here once are arriving tomorrow, sight seeing, eating out, DC tourism stuff, my graduation on thursday, a cruise with a5 course meal thursday night, a huge bbq on saturday... im DOOMED!

i am hopeful all of the walking will balance out all of the eating!

I've been on the couch, I've been sick for nearly two weeks! How can you be congested, stuffy and coughing and work out... :( wahhh!

There's a reason I'm not reporting in.

*scampering off with my tail between my legs and my head down*

I added a new class to my workout routine. I am now taking BodyPump at the gym. It is a muscle endurance workout. Then the next day is Pilates and Spin on Steriods (RPM). On Mondays and Fridays I weightlift and do cadrio 5 days a week. I am getting ready to start running in the great outdoors Monday morning. Today is a wash. Hubby and the Baby have been up all night sick as dogs. One is fine but the other is stil feeling nasty.

I feel good and made a pledge to run the Army 10Miler next October. Hubby thinks I am nuts, maybe I am, but I will do it. Whether not I am in DC to do it I will be running the race for me.

Well since I started this journey 24 days ago. I have lost 6 lbs. I will be checking my measurements this weekend. I am working out everyday and watching what I am eating. So I am happy with the results. I am losing fat, not water or muscle. So I keep chugging along and doing what I am doing. I need to start adding some weight training, I have been doing some, but not what I need to)

It is tough, it is a journey, I guess you could say this journey is going to show me what I am made of.

Wow! Reasa that is incredible. I have thought about running the 10 miler. I would love to do it with hubby so I need to get some more weight off and get a little more cardio time before I start training for it, but I would love to do that in 09!

We can do it and we are all worth it!

I haven't gotten into an exercise routine yet, although I've done Pilates a couple of times the past week or so. I also joined Weight Watchers a couple of weeks ago and am down 4.6 lbs in the first week and a half. I know that momentum won't last but it's a nice motivator to not cheat!

ArmyReserveWife, Hubby is not into running that far with me or anyone else. LOL He will ruck march 17 miles but not run 10 mles. LOL He is supporting me and will help me train. I am going to use a walk run training program. One of the trainers at my gym is a distance runner and says I can be ready in less than a year if I keep up with what I am doing. Just need to add some road work to it now.

Wow, all you ladies are really doing great! BodyPump is awesome!! I did that when I was in TX and loved it! I had some pretty good results in like 2 weeks.

Mo! I am sorry you are still feeling yucky!!

As for me this week, my eating not so great - I really need to stop snacking! At least, snack better. Today I broke and had french fries. I have only had those maybe 10 times since the end of January and boy did they taste good!!!!

Still working out 5 days a week though today was a rest day for me. Allergies have knocked me on my butt this week too. You would think that 2 different types of allergy medicine would have you covered, but noooo.

Airforcewife (and anyone else who would like too), you should try Crossfit, since you get bored. That is how I am, and I love this stuff. I don't think that I have done the same workout twice in 4 months. You can go to www.crossfit.com (or www.crossfitBWI.com is where I workout at)and they post the days workout everyday. If you have a question about the exercises you can email me and I will do what I can to help!! I would love to get certified for this stuff!! I think I will when I can come up with the money!!

Keep it up, girls!!!!!

You'll be so proud of me! Here on MilSpouse Appreciation Day, I finally joined a gym! Yay me! Time to finally do something!

family is here visiting, so a little more food than normal. and less exercise, since it's raining.. and raining, and raining. no yoga class thursday - emergency at work. but.. after everyone leaves, back to it.

Congrats everyone, on keeping it going!

LAW

I hit the gym today for the first time in years! Feeling good so far, going slow and concentrating on movement integrity. I go in for an official orientation on Wednesday!

Since April 15th I am down 8.5 lbs and 8.5 inches. Yeah!!

Who would have thought I could lose inches and pounds by doing in home walking!

Have a wonderful Mother's Day to all you mothers. God bless you!

You guys are doing so great! You're kicking my butt here!
