A Daily Dose of Pamper

|

I was one of the luckiest teens in the world - rare was the day when I had a zit of any sort.

I just didn't have a pimple problem - no acne, no nothing.  Life was good.

So I'm hoping someone can explain to me how, as soon as I hit my thirties, my skin decided to turn into some terrible version of "Teen Fast Food Worker."

Luckily, help is available.

I need to elaborate a little further, I think.

I'm personally terrified of aging.  I don't really know why.  I've spent quite a pretty penny on face lotions, scrubs, toners, and various products designed to slow down the march of time across my face.  My efforts redoubled the first time I bought alcohol and wasn't carded (that was a bad, bad day).

I've tried Avon, I've tried Olay.  I've tried everything from the Susan Lucci collection to Clinique.  Some things work okay, but they never work for long.  And rarely do I get exactly what I want from using only one specific product line.  I've spent quite a bit trying to discover the perfect solution to my skin care issues.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the products that worked best for me were some of the least expensive on the Rite Aid shelf:

Queen Helene products

I use the Mint Julep Scrub and the Mint Julep Masque.  And that regression to my teens?  Pretty much over.

I just LOVE it when frugality and skin care mesh.

I am having the same kind of problems although I am -cough-not in my thirties..

I have been using Ahava mud mask and that seems to help some.

It's not fair, is it????

I've had the same issue since I stopped nursing my son. It's been a year of looking like a 30-something on the morning of prom night. Ugh! I'll have to try this product to see if it helps. My own varied regimens have done nothing for me, and I'm tired of people assuming I'm a teenager who's spent the last ten years building up adult-level sun damage.

I keep saying that it's just not right that I have to fight grey hair, wrinkles AND acne all at the same time!

how about wrinkles and a zit? It just shouldn't happen. Life is not fair!

I'm the exact same way. I had perfect skin through school. I had, I kid you not, 3 pimples in 18 years. Got married @ 18 when my husband graduated A school then @ 19 my skin went NUTS. 2 years ago I gave in and tried Proactiv after trying EVERYTHING (even Queen Helene products) and it finally helped. It took a few weeks to see a huge improvement but now I have no problems (until around that time of the month) & I swear by Proactiv. Oh and the Acne Free stuff that is almost just like Proactiv works pretty good too. I can get it @ Wal-Mart and its like half the price. Either one works though!

Queen Helene is definitely at the top of my list, except for their apricot scrub it made me break out worse! Also quiting Coke a Cola made a really big difference. Every time I need a caffeine kick I have to do a mental scale...energy vs. a few pimples. Usually the thought of a clear face wins out and when it doesn't a single ice cold coke every couple of weeks is so good!

And don't forget one of the best things for acne is to drink water, water and more water!

Getting rid of deployment stress can be easy. But its a party "just for girls". It will make you smile and laugh and help break the ice during re-intigration.

i know women seem to stress more about a break out than a man but ive had the same problem. i had clear skin all my life with an occasional blemish every once and a while. but then it just got out of control and i found that drinking massive amounts of water helped some but the face washes just made my face dry and peal. any suggestions?
